You maybe asking yourself why ministry to men matters and why should I give to a ministry in support of it. Well, it doesn't take one long to look around and see that the world is in a very bad place. We are living in a post christian society and it seems like everyday the world is turning further and further away from God. More and more people are rejecting God and turning towards a world that offers false comfort and the pursuit of selfish gain. Men are at the heart of this issue. We have abdicated our faith and left our families, our church, and those around us vulnerable to the overwhelming tidal wave of relativism and the idols of this present culture. In order to turn this around need men to return to their God given place as the spiritual leader of their families and of the church. So what are we doing about it?
We started in 2018 by launching the Just a Guy in the Pew podcast to help men get through their everyday struggles by growing in their relationship with Jesus and other men. The podcast now has over 250 episodes, has been heard in over 150 countries around the world, and has been downloaded over 500,000 times. This showed us there was a great longing and desire from men for help in their struggles. That helped us to realize the great need and the call from our Lord to do more. Men don't to just listen to a podcast by themselves and hope something changes. No, they need real community and a band of brothers to help them along.
The men are in the state that they are in because most parishes have nothing for them. In fact, we have polled over 500 parishes in the United States and found that over 87% of them have nothing spiritual for men! This is where we saw the need and the way to start bring men back to the faith and their families. Now we are helping parishes establish field hospitals for men. We are guiding them in building places where men can be authentically themselves without the fear of shame. Where they can take off the masks and find real relationships with Jesus and other men. It has been incredible to be a part of this call and to watch men's lives transform.
Over the last two years we have traveled the country giving powerful RESTORED parish missions and group implementation trainings that have led to the launching or revitalization of over 20 vibrant life changing men's group in parishes! It has been incredible to see the hunger that priests and their men have for this. So how are we doing it?
Our Vision: That every Catholic man is involved in a Faith-filled community in their parish that inspires them to greater virtue and leads them into deeper relationship with Jesus and other men.
Our Mission: To Put boots on the ground in our parishes in order to stir up hearts, give men a structure and a guide for implementing a fruitful and lasting ministry, while providing continued guidance and ongoing support.
Through this vision and mission, we are truly accompanying priests and the men of their parish. We are walking alongside them like modern day Pauls, training them to lead and giving them a 4 pillar structure that has something for every man in the parish, young and old. Our approach is about the wholeness of a man and his desire to walk alongside his brothers in all pillars of the spiritual life. There truly is no barrier to entry and the structure has something for everybody. The Lord is using us to build places in parishes where men can be seen, loved, and heard and it is changing everything. This is where you come in!
The Need
The demand for our ministry has grown. We currently have over 50 parishes and multiple archdioceses/dioceses inquiring about our availability to help them in ministry to men. Due to the blessing of these demands it is time for our ministry to grow! John cannot meet the demand by himself. We need to hire and train missionaries that can go out and continue our great work in parishes. The only way to meet the demand is to raise up more men with a call to help men.
That is why we need your help. We need to raise the funds to support a missionary. The cost of this will exceed $50,000 a year, well more than what we are able to provide on our own. So this year, through prayer and the generosity of people like you, we are seeking to grow our team in order to help many more parishes and their men. Our goal through this hire is to reach a minimum of 24 additional parishes a year.
We ask that you kindly consider giving to this amazing work and our ministry that pursues the Lord's will in in each and everyday. If we can reach the men and provide a place of life changing encounter for them in our parishes, then we are well on our way to winning our families and God's world back for him.
